During an internship with Industrial Design Fujita in Nagoya, Japan, the first intern assignment under the direction of Fujita, Masao was to design and model a concept car. Fujita made his name in Japanese automotive design circles while at Toyota, and automotive design is still an integral part of his portfolio.

From initial sketches to urethane foam model to finishing and detailing, the entire process was done by hand, with no computer or hardware automation. This was instrumental in achieving a mastery of basic skills.

The result of this design challenge is a compact sports coupe with a mid-engine and seating for four.
