Karim Nassar has been building models since childhood. Over the years, he has developed award-winning skills in various techniques and materials.
Recently, Karim Nassar has attended the Wonderfest Sci-Fi and Fantasy scale model show & competition, held annually in Louisville Kentucky. In two years, he has won two Merit Awards and one Bronze award for his entirely scratch-build models.
In 2003, his fully scratch-built model, "The Moldy Crow," won a Merit Award. It features engine pods lit with LEDs, and a detailed cockpit complete with an instrument panel lit with fiber-optics.
In 2004, Karim Nassar won another Merit Award for his "Talon" resin kit. The Kit was produced by Ravenstar Studios, and mastered by Karim Nassar.
Also in 2004, his "Future Sidearm" won a Bronze Award. The fully scratch-built 1:1 scale model featured a "Hero Prop" level of detailing, including realistic weight, removable ammunition magazine, and a frame that could be field-stripped for "maintenance."
