In a project for garage-kit manufacturer Ravenstar Studios, the initial concept was taken from sketches to a mold-ready kit master. The intricate form of the ship was achieved with four urethane resin parts, two of them duplicates, poured in two-part RTV silicon molds. The masters for these parts were sculpted from styrene sheet-stock and RenShape® Modeling Board.
This model kit was awarded a Merit Award at the 2004 WonderFest scale model competition.
The original design, to fit within the Star Trek universe, depicts a fast-attack ship of the military aggressor species "Romulans," whose "Grand Imperial Fleet" have otherwise had very limited representation within the TV series canon.
